As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Vice President, Global Marketing who will be responsible for building, leading and inspiring a newly designed global marketing function which is comprised of Segment Marketing, Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing and Technical Publications. This global leader reports to the EVP, Global Head of Portfolio Strategy and Marketing and is responsible for driving their team to defining and delivering an integrated market-driven portfolio strategy in support of Ortho s suite of products in Clinical Laboratories and Transfusion Medicine. He/she will provide thought leadership and articulate Ortho s unique global value proposition of the current/future product portfolio s that is compelling for the target customer (clinical value, operational, financial) and apply knowledge of competitor landscape to drive the competitive positioning of Ortho s portfolio. This role leads and drives the global marketing team to timely deliver a strong, healthy diagnostic product portfolio message with supporting proof points and communication vehicles that produces revenue growth and increases customer adoption. This position is in Raritan, NJ.
Develops, defines/refines and leads the implementation our Global marketing Strategy. Develops a competitive marketing strategy in support of the in-portfolio roadmap for Ortho s suite of products based on full assessment of global market, customer and competition. Stays current on market drivers and assesses impacts to global strategy in alignment with Regional Marketing and the Commercial organization. Segments the market to identify and assess gaps/opportunities to strengthen the value of a Market-driven portfolio in collaboration with Product Management.
Defines and validates target customer needs (from Regional Marketing, Commercial and Product Management input and market research) and translates the needs into market-driven portfolio opportunities and value proposition. Aligns with Product Management, Commercial & training organization to develop the best tools & communications to drive portfolio and product uptake & brand equity.
Leads the Global Marketing team (Global Segment Marketers, Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing and Technical Publications) to develop clear messaging, positioning, pricing, packaging strategies in support of the full value proposition.
Develops and delivers competitive positioning of key portfolio advantages against competition. Focuses on methods to influence customer perception of Ortho s brand/products/solutions relative to the competition such that Ortho is able to occupy a clear, unique and advantageous position in the mind of both current and prospective customers.
Applies enterprise-wide mindset to deliver organizational value and tangible business results as this person is a key interface with Ortho Regional Commercial Sales & Marketing leaders to understand markets, competitive needs & differentiation; develop tools and strategies/tactics for value creation and market development initiatives globally with existing and new product pipeline
Lead and develop the Global Marketing team by providing continuous performance feedback and skill development. Drive and deliver overall talent management efforts to acquire, develop, retain and inspire the organization. Drive performance by optimizing organizational capabilities and structure. Create and lead a comprehensive succession planning model, including development of future leaders and overall technical talent
MANDATORY BS or BA; Preferred MBA in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field of study.
MANDATORY global marketing executive with 20+ years of business leadership experience in a complex, competitive, global company.
MANDATORY previous experience and performance excellence directly leading a Marketing/and or Communications organization.
MANDATORY working knowledge of approaches to define market needs/differentiation, voice of the customer, competitive/market dynamics and global commercialization. Experience working in diagnostics or medical devices a plus.
MANDATORY leadership experience;
MANDATORY experience in a customer facing sales or regional marketing role
MANDATORY executive presence; high energy; driven; collaborative; highest integrity and ability to get the most out of her/his organizations. Ability to provide organizational lift and lead/drive areas outside of scope of direct reporting (i.e. commercial, quality/regulatory, supply chain, operations, medical/scientific/clinical affairs, etc.).
Thorough understanding of how to capture industry trends impacting marketing on a global basis. Must have proven ability to build partnerships, relationships and develop winning culture to ensure the successful implementation of business initiatives.
Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills with executive presence and proven ability to lead, inspire, mentor, enable a team of professionals
Executive management experience including dealing with budget, partners, and helping create a positive work environment
Personable but strong leader who can put together organizations and get the most out of his/her people. A person who engenders a culture of productivity, and accountability throughout his/her organization
